Funeral Services for Thersia Ann Kirkland, 78, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Lee’s Chapel #1 Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Lee’s Chapel #1 Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Holliman Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Tommy Varnado will officiate the service.

A native of Carriere, MS, she retired from Movie Star Inc. after 40 years. Thersia was a member of Lee’s Chapel #1 Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. Thersia spent her retirement years traveling and being at home with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Lee and Beedie Spiers Lee; her husband of 49 years, Leslie Kirkland; and her brother in law, Fred Jenkins.

Survivors include her son, Kent Kirkland; her sister, Girtha Jenkins; her brother, Jessie Lee; her sister in law, Lolita Lee; nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
