Picayune has a new dining experience that features a number of exotic dishes.

Tokyo Grill and Sushi features not only sushi, but a number of tempura, hibachi and teriyaki dishes, said manager Mandy Zhang.

Even though the restaurant opened a little more than a week ago, Zhang said business is steady.

Currently the establishment employs about eight people, but if business picks up then Zhang said she will consider hiring more people.

Their aim is to provide the best customer service.

“We try to do our best,” Zhang said.

Two sushi chefs are on staff, one with more than 10 years of experience and the second has more than 15 years of experience.

They also have the ability to adjust a sushi order to suit each person’s taste. Zhang said if a customer does not like avocado or cucumber in their rolls, the chef can adjust the recipe accordingly.

Zhang also commends her staff on their ability to help customers understand what is in a dish they may not be familiar with.

“If you don’t know what to order I can help you,” Zhang said.

Tokyo Grill and Sushi offers more than 40 special rolls, sashimi, sushi, a variety of Japanese appetizers, lunch specials and dessert.

The restaurant is located at 704 Memorial Boulevard and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

They can be reached by fax at 601-799-5189 or by phone at 601-798-5188.
