Several suspects were arrested after the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department checked into complaints of drug activity at a local home.
Sheriff Allison said officers checked out the complaint on Aug. 27, which involved alleged use of methamphetamine at a house located at 184 Beaverwood Rd., in Picayune.
Upon seeing a marked patrol vehicle enter the driveway, one person standing outside fled into the home, Allison said.
Several suspects then fled out the back of the home, but were captured by the deputies on scene.
While the suspects were being taken into custody behind the home, the officers found a fireproof lock box containing a handgun and a black bag that contained a number of small baggies, a set of digital scales and some methamphetamine, Allison said.
Allison said that during a search of the home the officers found more sets of digital scales, baggies, spoons and several ounces of a cutting agent used to cut pure methamphetamine to a usable form.
As a result of the find, 32-year-old Michael J. Frierson and 36-year-old Ronald Dressner, both of 184 Beaverwood Rd., were found to be out on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Allison said the fact that both convicted felons were living in the same home was a violation of their probation.
In addition to probation violation, Frierson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon while Dressner was charged with two felony counts of accessory after the fact because he was in the presence of a controlled substance, Allison said.
Two other suspects captured on scene, identified as 18-year-old Kriston Kennedy of 184 Beaverwood Rd., and 46-year-old Roy Stevison of 318 Clark St., Pass Christian, were charged with felony accessory after the fact, also for knowingly being in the presence of a controlled substance, Allison said.
