Funeral Services for Joan L. Ray, 80 of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, will be held Monday, September 1, 2014, at 1 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home and again on Monday, September 1, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm service time at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Drew Dabbs and Bro. Dub Herring will officiate the service.

A native of Pinson, Tenn., she was an Office Manager for Dub Herring Ford for over 17 years. She worked in the auto industry for over 50 years. Nana was a very generous, strong-willed lady who helped anyone who needed it. She was straightforward and you always knew where you stood with her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Raymond Ray; parents, Ernest A. Weir and Mary “Polly” Marsh Weir; two brothers and two sisters, Mabel Finley, Rochell Weir, Louise Maynard, and Murray Weir.

Survivors include her son, Anthony “Tony” Barnes; four grandchildren, Mary Beth Thorman and husband Joseph, Brett Barnes, Adam Barnes and wife Amber, and Cory Barnes; two great grandchildren, Jeremy Thorman and Ray Thorman.
