While finding items online can be a way to save money, and locate those hard to find goods, there are some precautions people should take.

If you are the buyer and the item is mobile, have the seller meet you in a public place. It might also be a good idea to bring a friend or two along for the ride.

Friends can not only provide their opinion on whether the item is worth the asking price, but also ensure your safety in the event the seller had an ulterior motive.

Local law enforcement agencies are working a case where an individual was interested in purchasing a motorcycle, and was lured to the rear of a private home and robbed at gunpoint of the cash he brought.

This is where meeting in a public place and bringing a friend could have prevented this crime.
