Joe L. Lewis, Jr., 73, of Hattiesburg, died July 29, 2014, at Brandon Court in Brandon, Miss. The visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, followed by graveside services at 3:00 p.m. in New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune.

Mr. Lewis was a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and Mississippi State University.

He was an engineer with Sylvania Electric and retired from work at Kellwood Company in 2000. Mr. Lewis was Deacon at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, where he taught Sunday school for many years. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, and hunting.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Joe L. and Lorraine Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Breedlove Lewis of Hattiesburg; three children, Roxanne Lewis Bean (husband, Barry Bean) of Madison, Miss., Tejory Lewis Rimes of Hattiesburg and Kevin Blake Lewis (wife, Cheryl Lewis) of Madison; grandchildren, Shannon Nicole Bean of Madison and William Brent Bean, both of Madison, Lauren Anne Crocker (husband, MacKenzie Crocker) of Clinton, Lindsey Marie Singleterry and Landon Blake Singleterry, both of Hattiesburg; and great-grandchild, Olivia Anne Crocker of Clinton.
