The juvenile involved in a mother and son burglary has been arrested again for alleged distribution of prescription medication.

His recent arrest began as a call of a suspicious person in the area of Will Thompson Road on June 26, said Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker.

The call came in at about 3 p.m. that day. Deputy Van Giadrosich arrived to find 18-year-old Blake Alexander Tarver of 177 Will Thompson Rd., at the intersection of Will Thompson Road and Ozona Road, Tucker said.

Tarver was acting nervously as the deputy spoke with him and kept his hands in his pocket even after the deputy asked him to display them, Tucker said.

A safety pat down was conducted where the officer found an old 35mm film case containing about 70 Oxycodone pills, leading Tarver to be charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, Tucker said.

Tucker said Tarver was out on bond for charges that stemmed from a residential burglary in April. During the incident Tarver and his mother broke into a home and took a number of electronic devices while the victim was home, according to a previous story in the Item.

The story states Tarver and his mother, 38-year-old Laverna Fay Duncan, also of 177 Will Thompson Rd., allegedly broke into a home on East Ridge Drive in Carriere on April 7. The victim was home at the time and barricaded herself in a rear bedroom while Tarver and Duncan allegedly took laptop computers, a computer tablet and a couple of purses, the story states.

Deputies responded to the area, finding a vehicle matching the description of the one reported. A pursuit ensued, which ended in an accident when the suspects attempted to take a turn too fast, the story states.

Both suspects were arrested and the items reported as stolen recovered, the story states. Tarver was 17-years-old at the time, but the Juvenile Court certified him as an adult, meaning he will now be charged as an adult for those charges, which include residential burglary, felony fleeing of a law enforcement officer, destruction of public property, failure to comply with the requests of a law enforcement officer and possession of paraphernalia, Tucker said.

Tarver’s previous bond has been revoked and he is being held on a $30,000 bond, Tucker said.
