Joshua Alexander Hathcox passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. A lifelong resident of Covington, La., he was born on Monday, October 20, 1997 in Slidell, LA.
The beloved son of Linda Pratt Hathcox and Thomas Franklin Hathcox, Jr., he is survived by: one sister, Deaven Lea Hathcox; step-mother, Stacy Hathcox, half-brothers Gage and Riley Hathcox;  step-brother Dylan Legere; and step-sisters Madison and Abby Legere.  He was the grandson of Vivian Pratt and the late Donald Pratt and Thomas, Sr. and Wynell Hathcox. Josh will also be dearly missed his many friends at both Northlake Christian School (Drum Line) and Fountainbleu High School (JROTC and Band, to which he was so dedicated

Although his life’s journey was brief, he walked closely with his Lord and Savior to become a loyal member of numerous organizations. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by the youth group at New Beginnings Church, his fellow Scouts in Troop 94, his Brothers in the OA Tchefuncte Chapter, his cohorts in Venture Crew 703 in Chappepeela District, and all the folks at Camp V-Bar, Camp Salmen Reservation, where he would have been a certified lifeguard this summer.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at New Beginnings Church, 19219 N. 4th St. Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours at the church on Friday will begin at 4 p.m.

A private interment ceremony will take place sometime in the near future.
