Mass of Christian Burial for Linda Gene Gaal, 66, of  Picayune, Miss., who passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, will be held Monday, June 2, 2014, at 12 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1000 Goodyear Blvd. in Picayune.

Visitation will be Monday, June 2, 2014 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune,  under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Father Joseph Trinh will officiate the service.

Linda was born in Houston, Texas on August 2, 1947. She lived with her loving husband, Martin Walter Gaal, Sr., who is President of the New Orleans Fire Fighter’s Pension and Relief Fund. Linda was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She served as President and was a long time member of the Legal Secretaries of New Orleans and the River Region. She was also a member of the Legal Secretaries International. Linda and Martin were married October 10, 2009, and loved to travel from Italy to Alaska, and all points in between. She and Martin enjoyed their short life together. Linda was a giving, caring person and life to her, was a joy. She enjoyed cooking for a large family, and old movies were a favorite. Linda will be missed by all of her family and friends. She was a loving and dear grandmother to Theresa Gaal.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Gene Linsmier and Pearl Lemaire Linsmier; and her son, Gene Charles Jackson.

Survivors include: her husband, Martin Gaal Sr.; her daughter, Debra Pier Mercer; her step-sons, Martin Gaal Jr. and fiance’ Kim Barca, and Dennis Gaal; three grandchildren: three great-grandchildren; her sisters: Charlotte Cunningham and husband Robert, and Kathy Moran and husband Charley; and her niece Angelle-Marie Barbazon and fiancé Donovan Chase.
