I am writing to you to bring attention to the Handicap Parking in the City of Picayune.

It is very frustrating to drive up to a place of business and the handicap parking places are full of cars with no handicap license plate or permit.

Why can’t the City of Picayune do like some of the cities in our area do? They have a handicap patrol car.

This is a surplus patrol car and an auxiliary policeman or a retired volunteer. They patrol at unannounced hours and days and have the authority to write citations or have vehicles towed.

I know some people don’t think this is a serious issue. Wait until you have bad hips or bad knees or arthritis, you will see how necessary these parking places are.

Be thankful if you are able to walk from the parking lot to the store.
