Hats off to the Picayune Police Department for treating the recent arson case seriously and for conducting their investigation in a quick and efficient manner.

Using their skills as investigators, officers identified the suspects and all three have been charged. This is an example of excellent police work by Picayune’s finest.

The suspects are two 15-year-old males and one 13-year-old female, who are each charged with three counts of arson.

Just because they are juveniles does not excuse them from being held accountable for their actions.

It is our hope that the swift action by the Picayune Police Department will send a message to others who might be contemplating similar crimes.

Our community is blessed to have such a fine group of officers willing to serve and protect our citizenry. Chief of Police Ryan Dawsey certainly has something to be proud of in the efforts of his officers.

We as citizens of Pearl River County must work together with law enforcement officials to keep our county a safe place to live and work. Our police officers have an extremely dangerous job and they need our support and prayers.

Thank you to the Picayune Police Department for your extraordinary efforts.
