The Rev. William Fowler Sr. earthly life began on Dec. 31,1933, to the parents of the late Russel Fowler and Emily Hare Fowler in Paulding, Miss.  He was the third child.

On February 24, 2014 at 8:32 p.m., God determined that William’s season to live this earthly life was over, that it was time for him to take eternal rest

Rev. Fowler was a residence of Picayune, Miss., he became a license minister in June 19, 1977 in Joliet, Ill.  He was instrumental in getting the first black district line drawn in Pearl River County. He attended the following churches in Picayune, East Jerusalem, Pleasant Valley and Parker Chapel Church. He worked for PRVO driving the senior citizens to the feeding site at East Jerusalem Baptist Church for many years. His pass time enjoyment was he loved to fish.

William was preceded in death by: three brothers: George Fowler, J.W. Fowler and Jesse Fowler; one sister, Louise Smith; two daughters, Beverly Fowler, Lynn Phillips; one grandson, James Raine; one granddaughter, Coretta Fowler.

William leaves to cherish his loving memories, 5 daughters: Lillian Martin, Doris Hart, Valarie Raine, Angela Fowler all Poplarville, Miss., Tina Silas, of Gulfport, Miss.; four sons: Henry Fowler, Curtis Johnson, of Poplarville, William Fowler Jr. of Slidell. La. And Jesse Fowler, Joliet, Ill.; two sisters Mamie Fowler, Poplarville,  and Mildred Hare, Picayune, Miss.;  one brother, C.L.Fowler, of Jackson, Miss.;  38 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a special friend Ms. Ruth.

Funeral Service will be held Sat. March 1, 2014 in Hart Chapel Baptist, time 11 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour before service with burial in Paulding Cemetery, Paulding, Miss., under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
