Funeral Services for Billie Jo Holcomb, 84, of  Carriere, Miss,, who passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 12 p.m. at West Union Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home and again on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. until service time at West Union Baptist Church.

Burial will be in West Union Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Bud Putnam will officiate the service.

A native of Carriere, Miss., she was a Homemaker and a member of West Union Baptist Church. Maw maw was a devout Christian who was proud to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She never missed an opportunity to share how proud she was of her family. She was an unbelievably talented cook who could make your mouth water just by walking into her kitchen. She was the epitome of the “True Southern Belle” and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph Lumpkin and Myrtle Stockstill Lumpkin; her loving husband of 51 wonderful years, Robert P. Holcomb; and her brother, Glenn Lumpkin.

Survivors include: her son, Robert J. Holcomb; her three grandsons, Shawn Holcomb and wife Kim; Daniel Holcomb, Brock Holcomb;  and her three great-grandchildren: Bailey, Makaylah, and Trenton Holcomb.
