In other local action tonight, Picayune will celebrate Senior Night hosting Bay High.

Both Picayune teams come into the game off of losses on the road at Petal Tuesday night.

Shemar Williams led Picayune once again, pouring in 25 points and pulling down 12 rebounds against the Panthers. Donovan Rice chipped in 14 points.

The Lady Tide fell behind big early, and never recovered in a 72-57 loss.

The Lady Tide placed a trio of players in double digits, with Maya Whitehead tallying 15 points, Brandi Magee adding 14 points and Ashley Bridges 10 points.

The Lady Tide will have their hands full tonight against the Lady Tigers. Bay High is the defending Class 4A state champions and are led by one of the top players in the state in Christa Reed, who is a Vanderbilt signee.

Also tonight, Poplarville travels to Moss Point to wrap up Region 8-4A action.

Both Poplarville teams faced Pass Christian in league action Thursday night. A complete report on that game will appear in Saturday’s issue of the Picayune Item.
