Pearl River Central returns to region race in Jackson

Pearl River Central returns to Region 5-5A play on the road tonight.

Both PRC squads travel to Jackson to take on Wingfield. The Blue Devils and the Lady Devils are both 0-1 in league play so far. It is the district opener for both Wingfield teams, as well as the first ever meeting between the schools on the hardwood.

The Blue Devils are 6-9 overall, while the Falcons are 3-10. PRC is coming off a 59-41 loss to Columbia on Tuesday.

Alex Travis tallied 10 points to pace PRC, while Seth McCoy added nine points. Jonah Myers poured in a game high 18 points for the Wildcats.

The Lady Devils are 4-12 overall, and are also coming off a loss to Columbia.

Brandli Lee scored a game high 20 points to guide PRC. Kieara Oates had 17 points for the Lady Wildcats.

Also tonight, in other local basketball action, Picayune hosts St. Stanislaus in non-district play. It will be the third meeting of the season between the Maroon Tide and the Rockachaws. The teams have split the first two meetings.

Both Poplarville teams host Moss Point tonight in Region 8-4A play as well.
