Memorial Services for Marjorie Rose McGinnis, age 92 of Carriere, McGinnis clrMS who passed away December 30, 2013 will be held, January 3, 2014 at 7:00 PM in McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 6- 7 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Jim Prator will officiate at the service.
A native of New York, NY, she was a Commercial Artist and a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune. She was loved and adored by her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Edwin Heideman and Lillian Dorlogo; husband, Charles James McGinnis; and her sister, Dorothy Heideman.
Survivors include: her two sons, Guy Edwin McGinnis and Anita Glamuzina and Alan Lawrence Hobbs; her two grandsons, Scotty  Hobbs and Alan Hobbs Jr.; her six great grandchildren.

 

About Barbara Mizell

Barbara Mizell began working for the Picayune Item in 1993. She started during the "cut and paste" days of the newspaper, and was the first to create a newspaper page using the computer for the Item. She has served as Composing Supervisor and honorary Religion Editor. Of all the contributions she has made over her 20 years at the Item, she is most proud of the World War II book "The Greatest Generation." Barbara was born and raised in the White Sand Community on Lee Hill, she has also written many short stories about growing up on the hill.
