Jimmie A. Davis, Sr., 83  a native of Pearl River, Miss., and a resident of Pensacola, Fla., passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Pensacola.

Mr. Davis was a veteran of the US Army and a retiree of Escambia County School Board.  By profession he was also a baker and for the past 20 years he was employed at Krispy Kreme  Donut  company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguarite Davis and Willie LeRoy Jackson.

He is lovingly survived by: his children, Angela Maria Davis  and Evangelist Lorrie A. Davis-Augustin both of Pensacola; Jimmie Davis, Jr of Miami, Fla. and Lisa K. Davis, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph McBride, of Chipley, Fla. and George Smith of Metairie,La.; sisters: Lucille Stubbs, Martha Stubbs and Martha Smith all of Picayune, Miss., and Minnie Bell of Biloxi, Miss.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday noon at Greater Union Baptist Church, 1300  N. Guillemard St., Pensacola, Fla. Dr. M. A. Thompson, Pastor with Rev. Willie Evans, Pastor Springhead Baptist Church as Eulogist.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with Benboe Funeral Home, 416 West Wright Street directing.  Friends may call the funeral home from noon-6 p.m. Thursday for viewing.
