Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 12 noon in Pilgrim Bound Baptist Church for Mr. Freddie Turner, 67 of Pontiac, Mich., who passed away, Monday, December 23, 2013 at his residence embraced by his loving family.
Mr. Turner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Pontiac, Mich., on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Rev. Delbert Hall will officiate at the service.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, December 26, 2013 from 3-8 p.m.
Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery with Military Honors.

About Barbara Mizell
Barbara Mizell began working for the Picayune Item in 1993. She started during the "cut and paste" days of the newspaper, and was the first to create a newspaper page using the computer for the Item. She has served as Composing Supervisor and honorary Religion Editor. Of all the contributions she has made over her 20 years at the Item, she is most proud of the World War II book "The Greatest Generation." Barbara was born and raised in the White Sand Community on Lee Hill, she has also written many short stories about growing up on the hill.
