Mississippi State Treasurer Lynn Fitch was the guest speaker for the Republican Women of Greater Picayune’s fundraising dinner held on Tuesday at Southern Char Steak House.Fitch covered recent changes in policy and discussed opportunities state residents could take advantage of for college tuition.Of those in attendance, the following had this to say:“This was a great meeting. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work to make this happen,” said Picayune Mayor Ed Pinero.”Mississippi State Treasurer Fisk’s presentation, to the recent gathering at Southern Char restaurant, focused on recent several points of the efforts of her department and showcased the confidence and expertise she brings to the office,” said Father Jon Filkins of St. Barnabas Anglican Church. “Among the efforts are the ongoing plans to raise the state’s credit rating from AA to AAA; to develop a strategic plan for future indebtedness and work closely with the State Legislators to improve the earning potential of the entire state.”
