Gennifer Rae Morris, 31, of Poplarville, Miss., passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in the Pearl River County Hospital, Poplarville.

Miss Morris was born May 30, 1982 in Hattiesburg to Gene and Ginger Morris. A 2002 graduate of French Camp Academy she served as Queen of the Homecoming Court. A devoted caregiver and mother, people were the most important thing in her life. She was a member of Derby Place Missionary Baptist Church and a graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College with a degree in Practical Nursing. Gennifer will be sorely missed by all who come to know her.

She was preceded in death by: one sister, Elecia Rae Morris; her maternal grandfather, John Earl Wells; and her paternal grandfather, Olen Jonathan Morris.

Family members include: her daughter, Lyla Grace Morris of Poplarville; parents, Gene Morris of Derby and Ginger Morris of Poplarville; two sisters, Gena Elaine (Adrian) Jarvis of Perkinston, Miss., and Gerrica Lorea Morris of Poplarville; two brothers, Gene (Yasmin) Morris, Jr. and Gerrod Evan Morris, both of Poplarville; three nieces, Taylor Morris Hall, Cameron Morris Mitchell, Ashari Jarvis; three nephews, Asher Jarvis, Aedyn Morris, Gunner Morris; paternal grandmother, Lillie Mae Morris; maternal grandmother, Ruthie Lee Wells; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Derby Place Missionary Baptist Church with interment following in Hester Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation after 6 p.m., Friday at the church.
