Poplarville leads meet

The Poplarville Hornets lead the Division 8-4A standings in both boys and girls after the field events and the 3200m finals. The meet is being hosted by the Pass Christian Pirates. The top four finishers in each event advance to regional competition.
The Lady Hornets lead their division with 89 points followed by Pass Christian with 64.
In girls action, Bretta Hart was a triple qualifier as she won the high jump with a height of 5’1″. Hart also qualified in the long jump and triple jump as she finished in second place in both with leaps of 16′ and 33′ 2 1/2″.
Kendra Hall and Naomi White placed first and third in the shotput with throws of 34’5″ and 29’10”, respectively.
Jade Cousin and Meranda Brown went first and second in the discus with distances of 78’3″ and 77′.
Janascia Peters won the triple jump with a leap of 33’8″ and placed fourth in the high jump at 4’10″to advance.
Tkeyah Hart won the pole vault with a vault of 8′.
Tamera Henry qualified in the 3200m run placing third with a time of 15:39.48.
The Hornets lead the boys standings with 82 points followed by St. Stanislaus with 61 points.
Jarell Aaron was a triple qualifier as he won the high jump with a height of 6’4″ and the triple jump with a leap of 44′ 9 1/2″. He also qualified in the long jump placing second with a leap of 20′ 7″.
Freddie Dickie won both the shotput and discus with distances of 46′ 5″ and 122′ 2″, respectively.
Neeko Lockhart was also a double-qualifier as he won the long jump with a leap of 21′ 7 1/2″ and took third in the pole vault with a vault of 10′.
Armand Falgoust placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 39′ 1″ to advance.
Jordan Travis won the 3200m run in 10:22.34 to move on to regional competiton.
Pass Christian will also host the Region 4-4A meet on Saturday, April 30th.
