Peggy Poole King

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday January 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Poplarville for Mrs. Peggy Poole King, 71, of Poplarville, Mississippi who passed away Friday January 14, 2011 in Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Reverend Jeff Pruett will officiate at the service.

A native of Poplarville, Mississippi she was born Saturday December 16, 1939 to E.T. Poole, Sr. and Lorene Sudduth Poole. A 1957 graduate of Poplarville High School, Peggy furthered her education at the University of Southern Mississippi earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Upon graduation, she gained employment with the Mississippi Department of Human Services as a Social Worker. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church and an avid paper cutter artist.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, O.T. King; three brothers, David Poole, Horace Allen Poole, and E.T. “Pete” Poole, Jr.; and two sisters, Jessie Frances Poole and Marjorie Poole.

Survivors include two sons, Randy King of Picayune, Mississippi and Serge LeFebrve of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one daughter, Shirleen Landry of Picayune, Mississippi; one brother, Roger Poole and his wife Maryland of Huntsville, Alabama; Additional survivors include her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Braille Center at First United Methodist Church, Poplarville or Brothers’ Keepers Ministries.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday January 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Poplarville.
