Memorial services will be held at a later date for Mr. F.D. (Frank) Beatty, 82, of Poplarville, Miss.

Mr. Beatty passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at his residence.

He retired from U.S. Geoligical Survey at Stennis Space Center. He was a Unitarian Universalist, and a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran.

He is survived by: his wife, Betty L. Beatty of Poplarville; two step-sons, Eric Wood of Jacksonville, Fla. and Philip Wood of Poplarville; two step-daughters, Judy Bickel of Columbus, Ohio; and Rebecca Entrekin of Daphne, Ala.; two sisters, Mary Ingle of Kirkland, Ariz. and Lou Gerhing of Skull Valley, Ariz. and ten step-grandchildren.

Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, Miss. is in charge of arrangements.
