Memories of Fall Street Fairs past

This weekend the main streets of Picayune will be filled with people from all over and vendors from all over as well.

Ina Legg, Fall Street Fair Chair says, “The Picayune Main Street Fall Street Fair will feature approximately 250 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, art, crafts, jewelry, unique T-shirts and items for shoppers of all ages.  In addition there will be about 20 food and beverage booths serving some of the best Cajun, Greek, Barbecue, Seafood, and South Mississippi cuisine.  Both vendors and tourists travel from Texas, Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana to participate in the two day event each Street Fair.”

“We have many new events this year as well as old favorites. The Boulevard Cruisers will display some amazing antique restored autos and hot rods. Trophies will be given out in numerous categories so be sure to take the time to check out the many styles of restored automobiles.

Our children’s activities include a four person Euro-Bungee, Rock Wall, Choo-Choo Train, Inflatables, Ponies and the newest attraction this year is Games to Geaux.

Also new this will be NASA’s 35 ft. Inflatable Space Shuttle on South Main Street,” she says.

This years ornament will be on sale for $10 each along with prior year ornaments at $5 each.

Legg says that the fun doesn’t stop on Saturday, “On Sunday be sure to check out the Motorcycle Show presented by Fat Boyz Cycles. Motorcycles will be on display on North Main Street. Judges will name winners in various categories for the entries. Fat Boyz Cycles will play music throughout the day to please visitors of all ages.”
