USM police investigate vandalism on campus

University of Southern Mississippi police are investigating the vandalism of nine buildings on the campus in Hattiesburg.

Chief Bob Hopkins said the buildings were hit with graffiti in both chalk and water-soluble shoe polish early Friday.

Hopkins said the markings were easily removed with water and there is no permanent damage.

Hopkins said the vandalism occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.
