Doleac announces his candidacy

Hattiesburg attorney Ronald Doleac is a write-in candidate for Chancery Judge, Post 1 in the Nov. 2 general election.

Doleac has practiced law for 38 years, including 17 years as Special Master for the Forrest County Chancery Court. He and his wife, the former Ellen Finch, are active members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hattiesburg. They have three adult children: Chad Doleac, Assistant United States Attorney, Northern District of Mississippi, Oxford; Mark Doleac, project manager and estimator for Doleac Electric Company, and his wife, Jennifer of Hattiesburg; and Catherine Doleac Cross and her husband, Dr. John L. Cross; and two grandchildren: Thomas Doleac Cross and Caroline Elizabeth Cross of Brandon.

“I humbly submit that my practice and experience in the legal profession along with family, church, community and life experiences have prepared me for public service in this judicial capacity and I thank the public for its consideration of my offer to serve” said Doleac.

The State Election Commission has ruled that a write-in election must be held following the untimely death of Chancery Judge James H.C. Thomas, Jr., who was unopposed for re-election to Post 1 in the Nov. 2 general election. The 10th Chancery Court District is comprised of Forrest, Lamar, Marion, Pearl River and Perry Counties.
