Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Apostolic Church for Shirley Mae Culpepper, 78, of Foxworth, Miss., who passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Pastor Joe Gatlin will officiate at the service.
Visitation will be 10-10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010 for family members; regular visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.
A native of Pearl River County, she was a Dispatcher for the Picayune Police Department for 32 years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Apostolic Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Elvin Taylor and Margaret “Maggie” Taylor; and a daughter, Olevia Ann Borchert.
Survivors include: her husband, J.W. Culpepper of Foxworth; three step-daughters, Marilyn Gibbs of Foxworth, Donna Powell of Foxworth, and Glenda Edwards of Foxworth; one sister, Lois Kirk of Picayune; two brothers, Raymond Taylor of Picayune, and Boyd Taylor of Picayune; eight step-grandchildren, and two grandchildren, Angela Dillon of Slidell, La., and Joe Boechert of Picayune; three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Hathorn Funeral Home of Columbia, Miss. is in charge of arrangements.
