Bertha Anderson Thompson

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, for Mrs. Bertha Anderson Thompson, 86, of Picayune, passed away at her home in Picayune, Monday, February 22, 2010.

A native of Woodville, Miss., she was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, a member of The Heroines of Jericho, a member of the Mission #2, and a member of the Pastor Aide Club.

The Rev. Louis Thomas officiated at the service.

Survivors include: three daughters, Ruby Whitehead of Picayune, Evelyn Strawter of Louisville, Ky., Cleopatra McGuiry of Conroe, Texas; three sisters, Mary Ellen Wyatt and Grace Benita Newton, both of Woodville, and Earnestine Bruce of Atlanta, Ga; two brothers, Berkley Turner of Baton Rouge, La., and Roosevelt Turner of Woodville; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010  at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Burial was in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
