Vanessa Strain, a native of Picayune and a resident of Carriers, Miss., passed away November 11, 2009 at her home. She was 56.

Survivors include: her husband Fred Steven “Steve” Strain of Carriere; one son Jeremy (Crystal) Steven Strain of Carriere; two daughters, Danica Ann Strain of Carriere, and Calynn (Charles Mason) Strain Spence of Carriere; two brothers, Rickey Vivoni and John Vivoni, both of Hancock County, Miss.; two sisters, Gieselle Betley and Marsha Vivoni, both of Carriere; six grandchildren: Austin Avery Strain, Anna Bailey Strain, William Avery Strain, Trinity Alise Spence, Dalton Trey Spence, and Victoria Celeste Spence.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Faith Chapel in Ozona, Miss. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Carriere.
