A former Vicksburg Housing Authority supervisor has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $5,000 after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.
Other felony charges were dropped against 45-year-old Charles Jones when he entered the plea on Nov. 2. He was sentenced Tuesday.
The Vicksburg Post reports that Jones also might have to forfeit hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, vehicles, weapons and other items. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics claims Jones either got the goods from illegal drug activity or intended to use the items to break the law.
Jones is contesting the seizure of seven vehicles, 30 weapons, $94,159 in cash and other items.
