Natchez police say they’ve arrested two men on charges of not only writing bad checks but printing them as well.
The Natchez Democrat reports that Willie Mack Cauley and Demetrice Scott were each charged this week with forgery.
Police Sgt. Craig Godbold says the men allegedly bought check printing paper at an office supply store and printed fake checks. He says the IDs the two alleged used when they cashed the checks were real ID cards that had been either lost or stolen.
The illicit checks were reportedly cashed at grocery stores.
Goldbold says police seized a computer and the blank checks when the two were arrested.
Cauley and Scott were being held without bond pending an initial court appearance.
