Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 6, 2009 at White Sand Baptist Church in Poplarville for Eugene Kirkland, 58, of Poplarville, who passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington, La. Burial will follow at the West Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Carriere.

A native of Pearl River County, he was born August 31, 1950 to William Austin Kirkland and Vera Mildred Boutwell. He was the Manager of Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts in Abita Springs, La. and a member of White Sand Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Bazor Kirkland of Poplarville; one son, Chet Kirkland, and his wife Lisa, of Bogalusa, La.; two daughters, Angela DeVault, and her husband Richard, of Hattiesburg, and Jennifer Jenkins, and her husband Darrell, of Bush, La.; two sisters, Virginia Lumpkin and Melba Stocktill, both of Carriere; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday June 5, 2009 at White Sand Baptist Church from 6-10 p.m.
