Over the four days of cleanup in 2008, there were 680 participants in Jackson, Harrison and Hancock counties. More than 12 tons of litter and debris was picked last year.

Since 2006, about 99 tons of debris and litter have been picked up in three coastal counties.

Coastal cleanups are scheduled for Wednesday on West Back Bay; Thursday on the Pascagoula River; Friday on East Back Bay Back and Fort Bayou; and Saturday on Turkey Creek.
