The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued nine people from a stalled boat that capsized in high waves near Horn Island.
A Coast Guard vessel out of Pascagoula, Miss., was dispatched to the scene about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Two of the nine passengers on the 22-foot boat had been taken onto the Coast Guard vessel when the stalled boat capsized and sent seven others overboard into waves about 6 feet high.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Juston Wilcox, of Coast Guard Sector Mobile says all were pulled to safety, but the boat sank.
