Picayune’s Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Police and Firefighters banquet April 30.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. at Magnolia Collums and will feature Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant as the guest speaker, said Chamber Director April Parsons.

Parsons said this year’s event is expected to garner a high level of participation, since about 170 tickets have been sold. Tickets are no longer available for sale.

Picayune High School’s NJROTC will present the colors and Doug Lee is in charge of the evening’s music. The evening will be an opportunity for the community to show their appreciation to local fire fighters and policemen and women for their hard work, Parsons said.

“This is the business community’s way to say ‘thank you’ for their hard work and dedication,” Parsons said.
