Hancock County Sheriff Steve Garber reports that last Friday at about 5:30 p.m., Deputy Charles Lafontaine and Deputy Matt Foreman were dispatched to V-Bar Road in the Standard Community in reference to a burglary in progress.

Carver said the homeowner pulled up and scared the suspects off into the woods. The homeowner then called the Sheriff’s Department who sent out deputies.

“Apparently the home owner surprised these two and they tried to get away,” said Chief Investigator Kenny Hurt, in a press release from the department.
