GROUNDBREAKING — City officials and members of the Poplarville Fire Department held groundbreaking ceremonies Monday on the site of the new fire station. Construction is underway for the new Poplarville fire station to be located on 5-acres on Miss. 53 South. The heavy equipment class at Pearl River Community College will assist in site preparation, said Fire Chief Kris Foster. Completion of the project is scheduled in December, Foster said.
