Waveland seeks Picayune resident for shooting

Waveland Police are seeking Justin Columbus Mark, 34, for his suspected involvement in a recent shooting.

Mark, whose last known address is on Walker Street in Picayune, apparently engaged in a fist fight that turned into a shooting on Saturday in Waveland, according to a Sun Herald story.

The Picayune Item was unable to reach Waveland Police Chief James Varnell for comment Monday.

As of Sunday, the Waveland Police were looking for Mark and his girlfriend, 28 year-old Roni Levillia Lizana. Mark is wanted on an aggravated assault charge and Lizana has a warrant out for her arrest for possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver after Waveland Street Crimes officers found one and a half pounds of crack cocaine, believed to be Lizana’s, the Sun Herald story states.

The altercation began between the victim and Mark involved a fist fight that began after the man attempted to speak to Lizana, who is the mother of the victim’s children, the story states. As the victim attempted to drive away, Mark allegedly fired at the car. The victim was struck in the leg below the knee but was able to drive to the hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
