After days of evading capture, police say a Jackson mother accused of abandoning her infant has been taken into custody at a hospital.

Police officers arrested 23-year-old Teresa Clincy on Thursday. Bond was set at $25,000 Friday during Clincy’s initial appearance in Jackson Municipal Court. She was being held in the city jail.

Clincy has been charged with felony child neglect. She is accused of leaving her 3-month-old son on the porch of Jackson home Monday night. The child is now in the custody of the state Department of Human Services.

This is the second time Clincy has been accused of abandoning a child. On March 5, she pleaded guilty to deserting another son outside the entrance of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2007.
