Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for Mildred Marie Carter, 76, of Picayune, who passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 in Picayune.

Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Father Michael Snyder will officiate at the service.

A native of Abita Springs, La., she was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry Casanova Sr. and Sophie Maffee Casanova; one great-grandson, Brendon Foster; four sisters, and five brothers.

Survivors include: her husband of 56 years, Clinton H. Carter of Picayune; two sons, Steve Allan Carter, and wife Debbie Carter, of Picayune, and Michael Joseph Carter, and wife Debbie Carter, of Maryville, Tenn.; one daughter, Anita Marie Grimes, and her partner Ourelia Manchester, of Picayune; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
