Tonight, though, will be the first time the squads get to play on their homecourt.

Both the Maroon Tide and Lady Tide host Long Beach in Division 8-4A play in the friendly confines of Kelly Wise Gym.

In addition, it will be the home debut of first year Maroon Tide head coach Tom Taylor.

“We finally get to wear the gray’s,” Taylor, whose team is 4-3 overall and on a four game win streak said. Picayune is 1-0 in league play, coming off a 59-52 win over D’Iberville Tuesday.

“It’ll be good to finally be at home,” Taylor said.

The Lady Tide hopes that playing at home will be good luck and bring their first win of the year, as they stand 0-9 after an exciting last second loss 59-57 to D’Iberville Tuesday to open league play.

In other local action on the hardwood tonight, Poplarvillle hosts D’Iberville in division play while Pearl River Central travels to the Tigerdome to take on Bay High.
