Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home for Geneva Kennedy, 78, of Picayune, who passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Picayune.

Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Wesley Quave will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, she was a former bindress at the Picayune Item and a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Emma Carroll; her husband, James Burnell Kennedy; and one son, Billy Ray Kennedy.

Survivors include: her children, James Michael Kennedy of McNeill, Cathy Odom of Picayune, Steve Kennedy of Houma, La., Connie Penton of Picayune; and Ronnie Kennedy of Carriere; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Gilcrease of Picayune, and Jeanette Martin of Nicholson; and one brother, Waldo Carroll of Picayune.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
