Ocean Springs police are tracking down leads to occupants of a car which dragged and ran over former Jackson County supervisor Frank Leach.

Leach remained hospitalized Wednesday with multiple injuries, including a collapsed lung and broken ribs. Officials at Ocean Springs Hospital System say Leach is in fair condition.

Police say the incident occurred Friday when Leach walked outside after his wife reportedly saw some teenagers urinating in the street. Police say when Leach “made contact” with the driver, the car raced away, dragging the 55-year-old man about 60 feet. Then Leach fell, and the car ran over him.
