A capital murder trial in Lafayette County Circuit Court has been pushed to sometime after January 2009.

The trial was scheduled to start Monday.

On Sept. 28, 2007 Ole Miss track star Rodney Lockhart was found shot in the head at his Oxford apartment. One week later, Christian Bonner was arrested in possession of Lockhart’s credit card and later charged with capital murder.

Bonner’s attorney asked for a continuance earlier this month due to conflicting court dates in other districts.

Bonner is awaiting trial at the Lafayette County Detention Center with no bond.
