Officials in this historic city on the Mississippi River are considering a mandatory closing time for bars.

Mayor Jake Middleton is working a solution for litter and noise complaints.

At the beginning of August, Middleton was considering mandating a 2 a.m. closing time for all bars within city limits.

Now he’s working with bar owners to see what would work for them while at the same time finding a way to help with the issues of noise and litter.
