A motorcycle accident took the life of the rider over the weekend.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Cpl. Johnny Poulos said the accident took place Saturday at about 8:23 p.m., killing 51 year-old Paul Pignolet of Kiln.
The motorcycle driven by Pignolet was north bound on Mississippi 43 South near Radio Station Road when a south bound 1997 Nissan pickup truck, driven by 18 year-old Michael Loveless of Carriere, made a left turn off of Miss. 43 into the path of the motorcycle, Poulos said.
The motorcycle collided with the truck and Pignolet and Loveless were taken to the hospital. Pignolet died at the hospital, Poulos said.
Coroner Derek Turnage said Pignolet’s cause of death was due to closed head injury. Pignolet was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
