Harrison County authorities say a motorist struck the car of a Saucier man, then turned around and drove his vehicle into the victim, breaking his leg.

The sheriff’s department said Jason Heath Wigley, 31, was in stable condition at a Gulfport hospital, recovering from the Wednesday night hit-and-run that occurred outside the victim’s home.

Sheriff’s Capt. Ron Pullen said Wigley’s neighbors noticed the car driving by at least three or four times and called authorities.

Pullen said the driver and Wigley exchanged words after Wigley tried to ask the man what he was doing in the neighborhood and attempted to write down the vehicle’s tag number.

Pullen says Wigley was standing near his car when it was struck, and he was picking up broken pieces from the accident in the roadway when the vehicle turned around, came back and hit him.

Investigators believe the driver is a white teenager who had at least one passenger.
