The suspect believed to be involved in at least two south Mississippi bank robberies turned himself into Harrison County authorities.

Picayune Police Public Relations Officer Capt. Theresa Milar said the suspect, Robert Scott Antrim, turned himself in sometime Monday morning. The 38 year-old Alabama native was wanted in connection with bank robberies in Picayune, D’Iberville and Mobile, Milar said.

The Sun Herald reports that Antrim is also suspected to have been involved in two bank robberies in Texas. The publication reports that Antrim surrendered to Harrison County Sheriff’s Department investigators after telephone negotiations over the Regions Bank robbery in D’Iberville; bond for that charge was set at $150,000.

Picayune Police Chief Jim Luke said his investigators did not let up since the investigation began on April 19, the day Picayune’s First National Bank was robbed.

“If you come to the City of Picayune to commit a violent act we will follow where ever you go to bring you back to justice,” Luke said. “We made it extremely hot for him, as well as the other agencies that were looking for him.”

After Antrim faces charges for bank robberies in other areas, he will be extradited to Picayune to face the charge of armed robbery, Milar said.
