Austin Alexander was approved recently as the new head girl’s basketball coach at Pearl River Central High School.

Alexander had been an assistant coach for the Poplarville Lady Hornets the past two seasons as well as an assistant baseball coach at Poplarville.

This is his first head coaching job.

“It has always been my goal to become a head basketball coach on the prep level in South Mississippi,” Alexander said. “I think this is a very good situation for me and I hope for the team. I am very grateful to the administration at PRC for giving me this chance to take over the Lady Devils’ program.”
