Picayune Dandy Dozen standout T. J. House added yet another milestone to his list of accomplishments on Friday.

House hurled a no-hitter against visiting Bay High as the Maroon Tide took a 11-0 win in five innings.

House just missed a complete game, as he faced the minimum of 15 batters and allowed just one walk and then promptly picked that runner off base.

“He was hitting his spots real well, just raring back and throwing it by them,” Picayune head coach Cayne Stockstill, said of his super senior. “When he is throwing strikes that well and that hard, he is tough to hit.”

House struck out nine in the game, and moved to 4-0 on the year. He also improved his earned run average to a miniscule 0.51.

House helped his own cause at the plate as well and got plenty of support from his teammates also.

Jared Bales had two hits including a grand slam, while House drove in three runs with a triple and a single. Jacob Gandy had a pair of hits, while Brett Milner had two hits and an RBI.

The Maroon Tide moved to 4-2 in Region 8-4A play with the win.

• On Saturday, the Maroon Tide split a doubleheader with visiting Harrison Central.

Picayune won game one 4-3, as Jake Martinez got the pitching win to move to 1-0 and went the distance for the Tide. Jacob Riser had a double in the win, while Garrett Williams and Bryce Ladner each had important squeeze bunts in the win. The big blow came from freshman Eric Smith, who was in the game for defensive purposes but smacked a key two run double at the plate. The Red Rebels took the nightcap 8-3, as Ladner took the loss. Brandon Jurich had a pair of hits and Hunter Gill had a double for the Tide. Picayune, now 15-5, hosts league leading Long Beach on Tuesday.
